How the matching works
A person reads your answers, not an algorithm. Paul Fagan looks at what you have described and puts you with the coach best placed to help.
- You answer four questionsWhere you are, what sort of business, what you are trying to fix, and how you would rather meet.
- We read them properlyWithin two working days. If something in your answers needs clarifying, we will call rather than guess.
- You get a name and a reasonNot a list — one coach, and why them. If a second would also suit, we will say so.
- A free sessionNinety minutes with that coach, no obligation, no fee. If the chemistry is wrong, say so and we will match you again.
What we match on
- Geography — whether you want someone who can be in the room
- What you are actually trying to fix, against what each coach is strongest at
- Sector experience, where it genuinely matters
- Business size and stage — a sole trader and a fifty-person firm need different things
- Style — some owners want pushing, some want drawing out, and these are not the same coach
The last one is the most important and the least discussed. A coach you do not want to be honest with is worse than no coach, so it is worth telling us how you like to be worked with.
Chemistry is not a soft factor in coaching. It is the factor.
What happens on the first call
Ninety minutes, free, and it is a working session rather than a sales meeting. You will be asked for your numbers, so have them to hand.
- Where the business is now, in figures
- Where you want it to be, and by when
- The two or three things standing in the way
- An honest view from the coach on whether coaching is the right answer
Plenty of these end with a coach saying the business is not ready, or that what you need is an accountant or a recruiter rather than a coach. That is a good outcome and it costs you nothing.

Takes about two minutes. Read by a person, answered within two working days.
