The five levers
Profit comes down to five variables: leads, conversion rate, average transaction value, how often customers buy, and margin.
Small gains compound across all five. Ten per cent on any one of them is usually achievable inside a quarter, and ten per cent on all five transforms the bottom line.
What we look at
- Where your enquiries actually come from, measured rather than assumed
- Your conversion rate, which most Irish SMEs do not track at all
- Pricing. The most under-used lever in the country. Plenty of owners have not reviewed prices against rising input costs in two years.
- Existing customers, who are cheaper to sell to than strangers and consistently neglected
- Cash conversion. Turnover you have not collected is not turnover. Debtor days, deposits, payment terms.
